About Jerry Walker

Detective Jerry Walker was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the Little Elm Police Department for 19 years. Detective Walker earned his Advanced
Peace Officer Certification from TCOLE. For years, he served faithfully as a School Resource Officer at Little Elm High School, then was promoted
through the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, and to his last assignment as Detective in the Narcotics Division.

He was a founding member of the Little Elm Police Department’s SWAT Unit and the Hostage Negotiation Team. He competed in the Texas Police
Competition Games where he earned numerous medals in marksmanship. Detective Jerry Walker was shot and killed in the line of duty on January 17,
2017. The members of the Little Elm Police Department make it a point to introduce Detective Walker to all new members so they never forget the
dedication, service, and honor Walker brought to his team. In addition to keeping his legacy alive throughout the town, the Little Elm ISD Board of
Trustees named one of its new middle schools, the Jerry R. Walker Middle School. The campus opened August 31, 2020 and was dedicated on
February 28, 2021.

Although Detective Walker earned many accolades, he was most proud and happy with his four children; Darien, Lexie, Landon, and Jace. It is true that
he was very happy working for the Little Elm community, but nothing compared to the love he had for his children.
